Among the awarded students at the 3rd edition of International Olympiad of Astronomy and Astrophysics, held in Iran, between October 16 and October 26, there is, again, a student from Ovidius High School of Constantza. This is not the first achievement of the kind for Miruna Oprescu, student in 11th grade. She also won 3rd prize at the first two editions of the competition. The silver medal she won helped Romanian team to take 3rd place, after India and Iran, out of 200 participant countries. Besides this medal, Miruna received a special prize for the most lucid written thesis in the theoretical test.

In spite of the fact that those facultative subject matters don't get too much of attention in Romanian schools, in Iran, our students came forward more that honorable. Besides Miruna's medals, another two students from Bucharest won gold medals, a student from Barlad won silver medal and a student from Satu-Mare got mention.
