Romania’s Coast Guard has seized EUR 1.2 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in the port of Constanta Sud Agigea in southeastern Romania.
Reported by Agerpres, Coast Guard spokesman Marius Ovidiu Niculescu said the contraband – found in a container imported from Malta by a Ukrainian company – was the second largest seizure in a month in the port.
Destined for a British company – which proved to be a ghost company – the container was filled with 525,000 cigarette packs.
