Teachers and students from Ovidius University elected new leadership

Starting Monday evening, the new Rector of the Ovidius University of Constanta is Sorin Rugina. Yesterday's elections in Ovidius University enjoyed the attention of teachers and students who were present in large numbers. Over 94% of voters, which means 717 of the 753 people entitled to vote, expressed options for one of the three candidates, according to spokesman of the institution Daniel Citirigă. Sorin Rugina obtained 375 votes, Doina Catrinoiu was voted by 240 people, while Ana Rodica Brezeanu Staiculescu obtained only 78 votes.

"I am very happy that I won the election. My team and I took a fair campaign. The academic world of Constanta is capable of many achievements. I'll be a Rector for all, as I promised, and I invite everyone to come beside me to get Ovidius University on the highest peaks of values ​​and education", declared Sorin Rugina for ZIUA de Constanta Newspaper shortly after the announcement of election results.
Election of the Rector of Ovidius University of Constanta took place on Monday, between 8.00 a.m. and 8.00 p.m. Elections were validated as attended at least half plus one of the teachers and students entitled to vote.
