Last week, Constanta Local Administration held a press conference related to beggining of the construction works on the project "Improving access to Mamaia resort by building pedestrian walkways". The project is about the construction of three pedestrian walkways in Mamaia: "Yacht Bridge", located in the southern entrance of the resort, in the Holiday Village area, "Fishing net and seagull" Bridge, located in the Casino Mamaia area, and "Retro wave" Bridge, near Hotel Rex.
The project amounts 10,592,525.58 lei, of which the EU contribution is 6,880,807.76 lei, the Romanian Government’s is 1,511,465.56 lei, and the beneficiary’s (Constanta) is 2,200,252.26 lei.
According to Deputy Decebal Fagadau, the municipality intends to inaugurate the three bridges on December 1st. The general enterpriser of the project is Polaris M Holding SRL, and the contractors are Mobitom SA and Flash Lighting Service SRL.
During the construction of the three bridges, in Mamaia resort there will be drawn temporary pedestrian crossings, which later are going to be wiped out. Once the pedestrian walkways build, the pedestrian crossings on the spot will no longer exist. We are talking only about the three areas provided with pedestrian walkways; pedestrian markings in the rest of the resort will run as before.
"Walkways itself will be works of art, some pedestrian crossings are going to be wiped out and people will use only these bridges in the area, this will streamline much the traffic," said the mayor of Constanta, Radu Mazare. "Mamaia will be very spectacular because of these walkways“, braged chief of Constanta municipality.
