AN-2 plane, belonging to Air Force School in Boboc, who run a flight mission for training parachuting, crashed Monday, July 5, at around 17.40, on Tuzla airfield.
On the aircraft were three crewmembers and eleven troops of the Navy and Air Force.
Following aviation disaster, 11 soldiers have died and three others were injured.
The three wounded soldiers were transported to the hospital, but later one of them died.
Status of the two soldiers injured, Captain Daniel Balsanu and WOs class IV Marius Nazare, is stable, and they were hospitalized at SUUMC for further medical investigations and treatment.
Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft suddenly lost height and crashed. After impact with the ground, the aircraft caught fire; the fire was extinguished at 18.15.
Military paratroopers drills were held throughout the day of Monday. In this mission participated about two hundred soldiers who witnessed the accident and the plane flames, which amounted to over ten meters.
An-2 plane has a maximum takeoff weight of 5,500 kg, a payload of 10 passengers and a crew of three people, according to the technical description of the aircraft from the Air Force website.
An-2 plane is equipped with a piston engine Setov AS-62, has a length of 12.7 meters and 18.2 meters broad.
Following yesterday's aviation disaster on the airfield in Tuzla, four soldiers from the Air Force and eight of the Navy were killed.
By order of the Minister of National Defense a technical committee of inquiry was appointed to investigate circumstances of the aviation disaster.
