Writers Union of Dobroudgea Branch awarded prizes for 2008 and 2009The festivity took place on December 22, 2009, at the University Library, and the jury was presided by the literary cristic Nicolae Rotund.
Fiction book of 2008 was designated "Molima" ("The Epidemic") by Ioan Neacşu, essay book of 2008 was designated "Imagine şi text în haiga" ("Image and Text in Haiga") by Ion Codrescu, and Ioan Florin Stanciu received the 2008 debut prize for "Apocriful necredinciosului Toma" ("The Apocryphal of Doubting Thomas"
For 2009, the prize for poetry book was awarded to Iulian Talianu for "Căutând o lumină" (Seeking a Light), and for debut book, Angelo Mitchievici for "Cinema. Povestiri" ("Cinema. Stories").
The anthology of 2009 was designated "The Land of Poseidon. Anthology from Sea Lyricism", selection and notes of Arthur Porumboiu, coordinated by Ovidiu Dunăreanu.
The Special Prize for 2009 was awarded to Mircea Ghiţulescu, for "Istoria literaturii române. Dramaturgia" (History of Romanian Literature. Drama), second edition, and the prize for translation from world literature was awarded to Mădălin Roşioru. In 2009, he translated from French "Urania" by Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio (winner of Nobel Prize for Literature in 2008), „Love and Justice" by Paul Ricoeur and „The Apology of Literary Theft" by Jean-Luc Hennig.
