Mazare escaped from being ticked off by Geoana
Mazare escaped from being ticked off by GeoanaPSD National Executive Committee analysed the results obtained by every subsidiary for the euro-elections, and also the faith of the governing coalition. "Until 1st of July, we will carry out discussions with every subsidiary and we will identify what we have to improve and to support", declared Mircea Geoană in the end of the meeting.
Practically, Mazăre and his Constanţa team were spared from further reproaches, much more serious, by the central leading team, as a follow to the first critical reactions to the low percentage got by Constanţa PSD after June 7 vote.
The
discussions with Turnu Măgurele CExN [National Executive Committee] envisaged
the PD-L [Democratic Liberal Party] collaboration. Harsh critics postulated by
the president Traian Băsescu against some PSD ministers, and the discontent to
the way of preferential distribution of state funds to the ministries led by
democrat-liberals were some of the main motives for dissatisfaction among the
social-democrats.
"People are voting people"
"Such a stage of discussions was certainly necessary", declared Nicuşor Constantinescu, Constanţa PSD prime vice-president, before the meeting.
Called to Turnu Măgurele to give notice for the results of June 7 elections, Constanţa PSD leader, Radu Mazăre, declared that he was not afraid of possible reproaches made by the managements, as he was "on his own". He excluded any possible form of his being sanctioned, putting the blame on the central team and on the list of candidates selected to represent the party in the euro-parliamentary elections. He explained, before the assembly of PSD National Executive Committee, that the low percentage obtained in the county was the consequence of the fact that people had nobody to vote in Constanţa. "We said it then and our comment is extremely concise: people are voting people. And this should be clear enough for you. When they were given someone and when they had someone to trust, they voted accordingly and, for example, my senator brother (that is, Alexandru Mazăre) got 65%. Is that clear? (...) Certainly, if we had had a candidate in Constanţa, he would have had a message to transmit to people and they would have voted. But if you vote somewhere else, this is what you've got", Mazăre explained.
Actually, it is a well-known fact that the riot of Constanţa organisation manifested by not getting involved in the euro-parliamentary campaign, was based on the refuse of the central team to offer an eligible place to Lucian Băluţ, supported by Constanţa PSD.
The war between Mazăre and Geoană got worse in the context of lack of involvement of PSD leaders to protect the interests of the subsidiary on the level of decentralised services.
The voting fail from Constanţa was publicly criticised by PSD president, Mircea Geoană, as here they got 15% less than parliamentary elections.
