Who fed the money boxes of PSD [Social Democrat Party] and PD-L [Democrat Liberal Party]

Along the election year 2008, senator Nicolae Moga brought 200,000 lei to the budget of PSD and PC Alliance, while ex-senator Dorel Onaca donated 40,000 lei to PD-l.

The Official Gazette from 2^nd of April this year published the list of the juristic and natural persons who proved to be "bighearted" to the PSD and PC Alliance, during the last year. The donations valued more than 13 million lei. The same day, the Official Gazette no 213 unveils the list of those who preferred to "subscribe" to PD-l, the donations exceeding a total of 33 million lei. In the top of the most "left oriented generous people", there we found some notorious names -  PSD treasurer Aristide Roibu, PSD senator Şerban Mihăilescu, PC founder president, Dan Voiculescu and president of PSD National Council, Adrian Năstase. The total of the sums gathered from natural persons is 10,676,408.82 lei, and the value of the juristic persons' donations is 2,552,472.41 lei.

Among those who made important donation to the PSC and PC Alliance, there we have found the senator for the 2^nd Constanta college, Nicolae Moga, who offered 200,000 lei. On the list of juristic persons  who made donations to PSC and PC Alliance in 2008, we found Ivan Marius Foundation - 200,000 lei, Elite Center Ltd - 500,000 lei and Seaview Advertising Ltd, the last two having headquarters in Constanţa. The same Official Gazette specifies that the total of the confidential donations made to PSD - PC reaches 7,000 lei, and the total of the money coming from other sources is 4,198 lei.

Democrat liberal generosity

The list of the donations received by PD-l last year is very long, and among the leaders who contributed to the budget of this party we find a lot of natural persons, but also many companies. Among well-known local names who made consistent donations, there was also Dorel Onaca (40,000 lei). There may have been others who could not stay away without helping the party in this election year. About juristic person, the Official Gazette unveiled the names of 19 companies from Constanţa county, three associations, one foundation and a lawyer's office, which contributed to PD-L success in these elections.

The most generous local company is Sulina Estival 2002 from Neptun, which donated 80,000 lei; there follow: Casa de Expediţii Phoenix (70,000 lei), Ama Timar Agent Ltd (65,000 lei), Bodnariuk Lawyer's Office (46,757 lei), Khamsin Ltd (40,000 lei), Education for All Association (39,200 lei), Association for Promoting Danube and Black Sea Harbours (36,000 lei), Seif Haven Foundation (35,500 lei) and Accent Consulting Ltd Cernavodă (30,000 lei). The rest of the companies donated sums between 20,000 lei and 5,000 lei, as any amount was welcome in PD-L moneybox.

What the law says

According to Law for financing the activity of political parties and the election campaigns, the donations coming from a natural person cannot be no more than the sum of 200 national minimum gross salaries, taking the value which this salary had on the 1^st of January of that year.

For juristic persons, the donation should not exceed the sum of 500 national minimum gross salaries, taking again the value of the salary on the 1^st of January of that year.

We should mention that the law states that, on written request of the donor, his identity may remain confidential, if the donation is not superior to the sum of ten national minimum gross salaries.
