COSMOTE Romania reduces roaming tariffs and adds new roaming partners in exotic destinations

Starting July 1^st, COSMOTE Romania reduces roaming tariffs within the European Union with up to 22%, according to the European Commission rulings. In addition, as the customers' interest for exotic destinations increases during summer holydays, COSMOTE Romania adds new exotic roaming destinations in the grid.

„The more affordable tariffs come to the benefit of our customers and encourage them to talk with their loved ones back home more relaxed and with no concerns about the communicating costs when they travel. Also, although we are passing tough times, people still need to relax and enjoy a vacation far away from their day to day activities, so we've introduced new exotic destinations in the grid" stated Oana Cristea, Roaming & Interconnection Senior Manager.

COSMOTE Romania reduces with 10% the roaming tariffs for all calls originated from EU countries and with 22% the ones received within the EU space, starting July 1^st, according to the European Commission regulations. Thus, all COSMOTE customers, both subscribers and prepaid, will benefit from the Roaming Avantaj tariffs of 0.39 euro/min (VAT not included) for initiated calls and of 0.15 euro/min (VAT not included) for the call received within the EU countries.

Whether they are in vacation or in a business trip, customers can benefit also from the Roaming Traveler extra option, through which they can use the national and international minutes included in their subscription to talk while abroad.

Moreover, starting July 1^st, receiving messages in the voice mail when you use roaming in a European Union country will be replaced by receiving a SMS free of charge, with the phone number of the caller. Also, for a better control of costs, the data traffic within EU countries will be suspended when reaching 25 MB traffic (the equivalent of 50 euro, VAT not included), if the users do not announce in advance that they do not want to opt for this restriction.

Furthermore, besides the traditional destinations, COSMOTE recently introduced Cambodia in the grid of exotic destinations. Our customers can also travel and communicate with their families, friends or business partners in roaming in El Salvador, Qatar, Andorra, Angola, San Marino, New Zealand, Honduras, British Virgin Islands, Maldives, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Gabon, Panama, Jamaica, Caribbean Islands and Jersey Islands.

COSMOTE subscribers can use the roaming services in 163 countries worldwide, through 366 networks, while prepaid users can communicate with the loved ones from 156 countries, through 269 networks. At the same time, the GPRS service is available in 48 countries and 120 partners, while the 3G service is available in 32 countries and 39 partners.
