Seven nations to join in Constanta for military logistics symposium
CONSTANTA, Romania (July 6, 2010) – Seven nations will join together in Constanta, Romania, July 7-9, for a Military Logistics symposium.
U.S. Marines and Romanian Land, Air and Naval Forces will partner to host the symposium, expected to be attended by senior military officials from Bosnia, Bulgaria, Macedonia Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and the United States.
Military logistics is the skill of moving and maintaining military forces. Representatives from each nation will provide insight on how their military utilizes this vital discipline.
Subjects scheduled to be discussed include movement of military equipment and ammunition, military medical planning, the use of Black Sea ports by Romanian and Bulgarian forces, and the concepts and future planning of U.S. Marine Corps units based at sea.
This symposium is scheduled to be the final major event in Romania for the Black Sea Rotational Force 2010 deployment. Black Sea Rotational Force is the first Security Cooperation Marine Air-Ground Task Force to deploy to the Black Sea region, with mission to promote regional stability, bolster partner nations’ military capabilities and build enduring partnerships in the region.
