Mircea Brig at „The contest of the greatest sailing ships in Atlantic"The crew is formed of 190 trainees and students of School of Marine Foremen and ten foreign cadets from Croatia, France, Turkey and USA, which will get back home on 1st of September. During this 6 month voyage, they will travel more than 12,500 miles and will cross the Black Sea, the Aegean and the Mediterranean, but also the North Atlantic Ocean. "The route includes the harbours Catania, Cadiz, Tenerife, Hamilton, Charleston, Boston, Ponta Delagada, Gibraltar and Iraklion, and the trainees and the students will have the opportunity of sailing the brig in three out of six boat race competitions within ‘The contest of the greatest sailing ships in Atlantic', in which Mircea school ship is taking part for the third time", said captain Mugur Lucian, spokesman of Mircea cel Bătrân Naval Academy.
