The president of ANSVSA [National
Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority]: "I wish to have ero0 cases of
food poisoning on the sea coast"
Starting with 15th of June, we have in Constanţa the Summer Season Commandment, instituted by the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA).
The commandment will function until 15th of September and its main job is to protect the interest of the tourists on vacation on the Romanian sea coast, and lower as much as possible the cases of food poisoning. "I wish to have zero cases of food poisoning on the sea coast", declared Marian Zlotea, the president of the institution, on his visit in Constanţa from Sunday. It seems that it will be quite difficult to reach this target, as this summer, in comparison to the last year, a lower no of inspectors will be detached to the sea coast. In the first stage, 24 representatives of the sanitary veterinary directions will come from all over the country, and after 15 days they will be replaced by other colleagues of theirs. The controls of the veterinary and food safety inspectors will be performed with the help of two laboratories endowed with specialised equipments. The tourist may complain about the irregularities about the food sold on the sea coast, any time, by calling 0800.826.787.
