Elena Frincu, the iron woman from the Direction of Sports
Elena Frincu, the iron woman from the Direction of SportsShe had been member of the leading team of this
institution for 13 years, when she became executive manager of the Direction,
and her work was always appreciated by Radu Mazăre. Before becoming a manager, Elena
Frîncu was a teacher with School Sports Club no 1, between 1983 and 1984 she
was the trainer of the junior handball team, and during 1985 - 1989 she was
secretary of the County Council for Physical Education and Sports. In 1996 she
came back to teaching, this time as university assistant within the College for
Physical Education and Sports, Ovidius University; starting from 2000 she has
been lector dr. and she splits between lecturing courses and being the chief of
County Direction of Sports. According to her CV, Elena Frîncu is a member of
the Executive Committee of Romanian Sports and Olympic Committee, Federal
Office of Handball Romanian Federation, Romanian Olympic Foundation, National
Commission of the Teachers of Physical Education within the Ministry of
Education, and of the Council of Romanian Sports Values.
World handball vice-champion
As expected, she has a degree in physical education and sports. She also owns a master's degree in public administration and management, but when she decided to obtain a Ph d, she came back to her old passion, sports. Citizen of honour in Cumpăna and Medgidia, the chief of the County Direction of Sports could praise about her handball career. According to her CV, the iron lady of Constanţa Direction of Sports is triple junior and senior national champion, semi-finalist with IEFS team in the European Champion Cup, multiple junior and senior Balkan champion and handball world vice-champion.
