Message of anniversary from Mihai Daraban, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation and Agriculture Constanta

 

On the occasion of US Independence Day, celebrated on the 4th of July, I congratulate the American people. 239 years ago the American dream was taking shape through a declaration which became an inspiration for other peoples, and human rights in general.

„We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
We are grateful to the US for expressing these truths and we are also grateful that many Romanians who have sought happiness over the ocean were offered equal opportunities during communist times.
Ever since the 1989 Revolution, the United States are the most important milestone in Romania's foreign policy, our strategic partnership, which is not a simple alliance, being proof of the unbreakable bond between the two peoples. Constanta County is of particular importance in this partnership, as we can see here the best cooperation, in terms of military, politics and economics. Certainly, American investment in this area will gain an increasingly important role, which we confidently expect, given the potential Constanta County provides. We go ahead, along with America!
